App to import contacts from text file (CSV file), to organize your contacts into groups, send collective SMS or e-mails, manage and clean your contacts.
• Import contacts into iPhone address book from text file table (CSV) of different format (represented as table, where one line is one contact). Just map the columns of text file table to name, phones and so on.
• If contacts in CSV file are assigned to groups you can import groups and assignment of contacts to those groups.
• Import phone types from CSV file (“mobile”, “work”, “home”, “fax” and so on), you can map phone types from the file to iPhone types.
• Import birthdays of your contacts from different date format (US, European or other). The date format is determined automatically (but can also be changed).
• Different encodings (languages) of the file are supported (see below list).
• Any file separator (delimiter) of the file are supported: comma, semicolon, tab or any other.
• Number of columns, their names and order does not matter – you will map (and app also helps to map them automatically) file columns to the iPhone contact data: groups, names, phones (up to 4 phones per person), phone types, e-mail addresses (up to 2 per person), date of birth, address, company and other.
• Contacts will be simulated so you can check and clean them before importing. The app will also check is contact already exists to avoid creating duplicates.

NOTE ON THE CSV FILE FORMAT
Though the app was tested on hundreds of CSV file formats, the formats of CSV files can vary greatly and sometime files are not properly formed and errors on the import occur. If you experience problems please leave support request/feedback (use "Leave comment" or "Leave reply" on support page http://csvcontacts.wordpress.com/) . If you leave app review we cannot help as your contact details are not known to us.

Manage your groups and contacts easily.
• Create and delete groups.
• Assign contacts to groups - one by one or with mass selection.
• Easily clean up your contacts one by one by swiping or with mass selection.
• Send broadcast SMS and e-mails to all or selected contacts or contacts of the specific group.

*******************************************************
NOTE ON ASSIGNMENT OF CONTACTS TO GROUPS
Not all contact sources support groups. For example Exchange does not support groups therefore if you sync contacts with Exchange you cannot assign contacts from Exchange to group created with this app. Also you may not be able to assign contacts from one source (e.g. Google) to group created in another source (e.g. iCloud, or locally). In this case you should create the groups in the same source as contacts.
Groups and contacts created locally on iPhone or on iCould/Mac should be assigned without problems.

Requirements for CSV file:
• organized as plain table, where one line corresponds to one contact (person)
• must have header line, with names for all columns

Pros and cons of Contacts In : Import CSV & Manage Groups app for iPhone and iPad

Contacts In : Import CSV & Manage Groups app good for

After hours of trying different ways to sync my csv and vCard contacts to my iPhone with no luck...I finally broke down and bought the app...best $3.99 I have ever spent. Wish I would have tried it hours ago. Amazing and Easy Thank you!!!!!!!
Super easy and user-friendly! Import excel contacts via iTunes or plain email. Wish Id found this app sooner! Best $3.99 spent.
Save yourself the headache and buy the app. It does exactly what you want it to.
Needs some kind of auto-detect when it needs encoding info from the file as well as the phone number type "work/mobile/home/etc..." Did import the contacts, numbers, and emails in .csv file though. Thanks!
I really love this app, I bought 3 other apps before I got to this one. None of them did what I needed for it to do. I wish I would have saved my money on that crap, because this was money well spent! Thank you so much for this great app. Makes my work a lot easier!
My iTunes backup failed. I was able to import my contacts in .csv format. This app allowed me to get my contacts back into my iPhone without retying everything. Awesome!

Some bad moments

Imported all of the contact names but no other info. Switched to another app and it imported everything seamlessly.
This app will screw up ur contacts!!!!! The group function didnt work at all resulting in thousands of extra entries in ur contacts! its obviously buggy, has a weak user interface, with virtually no instructions or help info. Dont be drawn in by these good reviews... I wish I had never downloaded this app....
Did not help me transfer my contacts. Just lost time with this app. i had to use outlook to transfer my contacts. Not suggested. Not worth this price
As stated, nothin happened aft the prog saw csv file from nokia e-series phone, it just closed. Managed to conv through outlook-itunes sync.
I purchased this while facing the daunting task of transferring my wifes contacts from her Samsung Magnet to her new iPhone 5. I had already figured out how to make the .csv using Samsung PC Studio, and this app did the second part very nicely. Directions were easy to follow and even though I have tinkered with mapping fields in different scenarios before, this app walked me through the steps and graphically displayed what was happening where appropriate. Very easy to use; about as easy as you can make this moderately technical task.
I was thrilled to find this application to import all of my contacts via a csv file. Everything worked great, except that all birthdates get imported as one day earlier than they really are. If that bug is fixed, itll be perfect.
